If you’ve been following our updates, you’ll already know that the eighth FAAM Conference is fast approaching. Having moved from its previous date slot late in the year, FAAM 2025 will take place on 14-15 May, at the Birmingham Conference & Events Centre.
So why should you go? Simply put, this two-day, in-person event is a standout opportunity for asbestos professionals to engage with the latest science, share best practices, and connect with others in the field.
The 2025 conference programme features a mix of seasoned experts and fresh voices, with must-see sessions including a keynote from Professor John Cherrie, and regulatory updates from Sam Lord of the HSE.
I’m particularly looking forward to a likely thought-provoking talk by Phoebe Smith, which will explore the psychology behind why workers do – and often don’t – follow procedures. Not only is this often the blocker to a project’s success, but it can be the cause of significant workplace accidents. Understanding why it happens is therefore crucial to improving safety.
I hope you’ll join us for this highlight of the asbestos events calendar. Visit the FAAM website for more details and booking links.
